Chris Pipe, Founder/Director
Chris has a wealth of experience in the Town Planning industry and as former Head of Planning for a Council, working as UK Planning & Land Director for a large PLC and by launching Planning House in 2016 she knows her way through the planning system from a unique perspective, which is why the label ‘Gamekeeper turned Poacher’ has never been more appropriate.
Chris has experience in all aspects of Town Planning in both the public and private sector. Her skills vary from managing the entire planning function at a Council (Policy, Development Management, Enforcement, Conservation and Archaeology), to handling large scale complex schemes to working with an individual who needs straightforward realistic planning advice.
Chris prides herself on being able to cut through the red tape and offers an open and straightforward approach to clients. This is one of the reasons we offer a range of FREE eBooks, Practical Guides and Blogs.

Outside of work you’ll find Chris with her family, or walking her three dogs (Fozzie, Bear & Rowlf – clearly she loves the Muppets) generally to a pub for a cheeky glass of red wine.

Emily Floeser, Town Planning Consultant
Emily is a Chartered Town Planner and Landscape Architect with a diverse background in landscape design, historic conservation, and town planning. Although originally from the United States, Emily has built the majority of her professional career in the UK and Ireland.
Emily brings her extensive expertise to Planning House, where she contributes to shaping sustainable, functional, and visually appealing developments. Based in Newcastle, Emily takes a multi-disciplinary approach to her work, drawing on her education and professional experience to deliver thoughtful, community-focused solutions that align with the ethos of Planning House.
Emily has worked on a range of projects, including securing planning permissions for retrofitting solar panels and air-source heat pumps, as well as managing rural residential developments that align with the ever-evolving planning regulations. Her extensive experience includes navigating the complexities of listed building consents and integrating landscape design into planning applications for both heritage and environmentally sensitive sites.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys karate, salsa and blues dancing and engaging in various crafts. She lives in the North East with her husband and two cats, Tondi and Etta.
