Planning House are thrilled to announce that we have assisted our client to secure planning approval (subject to a legal agreement) for the erection of affordable housing (23 dwellings) with associated parking and landscaping land north west of Gurney Street, New Marske, Redcar and Cleveland.
Officer’s recommended approval to the scheme which Member supported 9-3 in favour. The application site lies outside of development limits for New Marske, however on balance it was considered that the community and social benefits of the provision of affordable dwellings which includes 6 bungalows will significantly address a current under supply in the New Marske area.
Approval was granted by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council planning committee for the 23 affordable homes which will be managed and Owned by Beyond Housing.
Councillors did request additional wording within one of the conditions to ensure that hedgehog highways were included in the scheme which the developer is happy to provide.
