Working alongside Peter Goldthorpe from Goldline Architectural Limited, we recently provided a planning statement in support of commercial to residential conversion under Schedule 2, Part 3, Class MA of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015 (as amended). This project involved transforming an existing commercial building (Class E) into 54 individual residential flats (Class C3) in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
The proposed flats were designed in accordance with the Class MA regulations and a full assessment was provided within the statement to aid in the determination of the application. From August 2021, Class MA came into force, which allowed a change of use from Class E to residential, subject to prior approval. Our Blog, New Permitted Development Rights for Shops and Commercial (Class MA) provides information on what the rights include.
Congrats to Goldline Architectural Limited and our client!
