Join us on our 2021 quest to raise money for DASH by running the length of the UK.

Virtual Team Challenge

We have been looking for a fun way to raise money as a team for our chosen charity DASH for some time. A Land’s End to John o’Groats 874 mile run/walk, broken up between the three of us across the year seems like the perfect solution! It feels achievable (292 miles each over 54 weeks equals just under 5.5 miles per week), yet it is still a HUGE feat!

Chris, Helen and Claire* are totally committed to the challenge, but to spice it up a little, they’ve decided to open it up and invite other groups to get involved… with the promise of a TROPHY for whoever completes the 874 miles first!!

The Rules

ABOUT DASH

DASH (Durham Action on Single Housing) is a small, local charity that provides accommodation with support to people who are homeless or are about to become homeless.

They are able to accommodate up to 63 people in a variety of properties on short, medium, or long-term agreements.  Their aim is to provide a supportive and stable environment to give people the best chance of addressing the problems that caused their homelessness and give people the opportunity to move into independence.

As Town Planners, homelessness and housing is an issue we take very seriously. We were so impressed with the ethos and services delivered by DASH that we knew we wanted to help straight away!

Register

The entry price is £10 per person, which will be donated in full to DASH. Planning House will provide a FREE medal for everyone who completes the challenge.

Fundraising

Individuals and teams are invited to set up their own JustGiving pages and there will be a prize for the individual or team who raises the most money across the year.

*As from May 2021 Claire embarked on a new adventure and left the team, however she is still part of the ‘Who Runs the World’ Dash for Dash Team!
