Planning Success – Countryside Home

Our Helen Heward secured outline planning consent last year for a new dwelling in the countryside.  The plot was within a small cluster of dwellings within the rural east coast area of Co. Durham.

Approval was granted by Durham’s Planning Committee against officer recommendation, on the basis that the location was sustainable which was confirmed in a planning appeal decision.  The Committee also recognised that the welfare of the horses on the site and security issues faced tipped the balance in favour of the scheme.

The recent approval secured consent for the reserved matters associated with the development.   The design of the dwelling is a rural style bungalow which matches in with the surrounding stables/buildings.  And includes a tack room to support the equestrian use of the site and office to allow working from home to occur.  The pandemic has made us all re-evaluate the way we live and work and we’re very proud to have been involved in this project which provides our clients with their dream home!
