Planning Success – Extended Construction Hours Granted

Planning House are delighted to have used new legislation under section 74B of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 for a fast track deemed consent which allows conditions that limit construction site working hours to be modified.  We applied under s74B on behalf of our client for a major housing site in Hartlepool.

The application was made to extend construction hours detailed in the Construction Management Plan which was controlled by conditions to enable safe working practices on site; such as appropriate social distancing and staggered start and finish times to ensure an appropriate staff levels at any one time.

This 14 day simple process now allows our client to work on the site with extended operating hours to ensure COVID-19 compliant working for all on site, and to ensure any delays in the build due to the pandemic are minimised.

Well done Helen on securing this one! Congratulations to our client Port Homes.
