Planning Success – For a certificate of lawful use in Lichfield

Planning House are thrilled to have secure approval from Lichfield District Council for a certificate of lawful use for use as a residential childrens home.  The certificate was secured on the basis that although the property which was a single dwelling would be used to care for 3 children with residential carers working on shifts this did not amount to a “material change of use’.

We produced a detailed statement to support our assertion including appeal decisions which demonstrated our argument that the property would continue to operate similar to a ‘family home’.

The Council ultimately agreed and issued a certificate of lawful use meaning that the applicant can now begin operating and provide care for children at the property.
